Freshman SAT study club?any suggestions as to what medical/science related clubs i can start/found at school? We already have hosa, future doctors, science bowl/olympiad, math team, etc...
thanks

Find the SDN Club! Get people that are on SDN together!
Those clubs you listed would be something to check out. HOSA can be a very serious club when it comes time for the competitions, but that is if you do those. I never joined HOSA but it was huge in my school.

There already is a freshman SAT club (no joke). Some kid in my grade got like a 2250 on his SAT in 7th grade, and he founded a club this year, in which he helps other kids for the SAT (if their score is like below 1800).
There's already Robotics.
I feel like you're comparing yourself to others a lot. You say, "Oh, so-and-so is only in 7th grade and he got a 2400 on his SAT's bla bla bla," but that doesn't mean YOU should even be thinking about the SAT's right now. Just because there are other people out there being ridiculous over-achievers doesn't mean it's the right thing to be. Standardized tests are not important enough to start thinking about in your freshman year. What you really should be focused on is learning a lot in your classes and getting involved in activities that you're passionate about. You may disagree with me, but ask any college counselor or college admissions officer, and I can 100% guarantee you that they would think the same thing.
Dude, I'm sorry to say this again, but seriously go enjoy life right now. Before you know it, you will be too busy to do that. This is probably the most helpful advice I have EVER given.@BioBeaver I appreciate the advice. I'm already on a sports team and I have practice a lot.
@Californiacati0nI'm a competitive person, and I want to succeed. and for the LAST TIME, I'm NOT WORRYING ABOUT THE DANG SAT THIS YEAR!! I was just answering jpatel2018's hilarious comment about starting an SAT prep club, which we already have.
Also, I'd rather start a medical club, because then I'm founder/president, so I was asking for advice for clubs relating to medical/science, but apparently you guys just want to make fun of me.
If you're doing that as a freshman, you should be playing football... What are you doing on hSDN?I squat 240 and bench around 190.

I'm a Colts fan too, brah! #GoBlue ! But that's only because I live about 45 minutes from their stadium lol!
Pics or it didn't happen. I bench 200 and squat 360 (no pad). Frosh!
EDIT: That is awesome for a freshman though.

I wished I'd get recommendations or like pros-cons of each.. you know, something other than "Pursue your passions"
Why would you go off of someone else's perception of a certain club. Stop asking and go participate in the ones you feel are cool and let US know how they went.
As you said this before, we are going to be KICKA*S* fathers. LOLlike SERIOUSLY. Choose based on what you like. Cmon dude.
Back to the actual topic of this thread... is taking debate useful for the medical field? At my school, debate, math team, science olympiad, and robotics are at the same time every week... I don't know which one to participate in, but I'm leaning towards math team... any suggestions?

This is something ridiculous to be asking before starting you're freshman year of high school. There are thousands of college students who start off as premed who dont make it all the way. Even of you do plan on doing all of these clubs in high school, what happens if you fail your first couple of pre req exams your first semester of college or something unforeseen happens? You should spend your time cultivating your passions in high school while doing well in your classes and your standardized exams. Instead of focusing on clubs thatll "help" you become a physician years from now, aim to be the best at a few activities in high school. Itll be worth it in the end when youre at a top undergrad or bs/md program rather than going to an obsolete "future doctor" club every wednesday in high school.
Bear down!
gunnin #nodaysoff
