Thanks a ton for the response Goro! I should have clarified though, right now I'm only looking at MD schools, no DOs. Still appreciate the response though!

Also, Duke is really only on the list because I liked it a lot for undergrad and my parents now live in the Durham/Chapel Hill area.

If anybody else has feedback or suggestions please leave them here and I will be sure to reciprocate in any way I can. Thanks!

In lieu of DO schools (which I think you don't really need as well) I'd consider the DC schools-low yield, but stats wise you have a good shot of being just as competitive as the other 14k applicants. Also, Commonwealth.

Duke is extremely unlikely, I would save the application fee and time on that one.

Yes. Note: With an MCAT of 31 and a Bio of 9, at the minimum, CUSOM should be on your list. All medical schools are getting more competitive every year. Given your geographic preferences, you're ruled out ~8 MD schools, mostly in the Midwest.

On a side note, I heard that I can submit with a few placeholder schools and then add more after the fact while I'm waiting for it to validate. Can anyone comment on whether or not this is true?

@WFU2015 If I were you I'd also open up to the Midwest. Lots of fine med schools you'd be competitive for in that area. MD anywhere is better than no MD.
