Hi

I’m beginning to notice some pain in my right CMC joint only when injecting large volumes, particularly against some resistance. I’m in my mid 40s, and plan to practice until my mid 50s.

Any thoughts on ways to modify injection technique to reduce stress on the CMC?

i had that for awhile at about the same age. took motrin until it went away. think it lasted less than 6 months.

Most of us learned this tactic as teenagers.

High concentration LP-PRP into the joint and collateral ligaments. It will hurt like a mo-fo for a couple days, but you'll thank me later.

Same here but I’m a little younger. Started in 20s from powerlifting…. I try to use thenar emanance and or contralateral hand when able.

….. or sit on your hand for a while before using it. I recall that being called “the stranger”

Oxy 30 with soma and whatever benzo you aren’t allergic

have a PA do your procedures

or a monkey

Agree with using palm to inject, Voltaren gel,, and PRP if continues. Extension tubing can also be your friend by allowing you to inject at a different angle.

Probably not OA.

Best tip i can give is that when you are ready to inject and your needle tip isnt near any nerves, just switch hands. GTB, hips, shoulders, SIJ. For some reason, gtb tends to have the most resistance

I’ve also had this come and go as well. Switching hands helped and made the day more interesting.

Also stopped using 30g needles limited 5cc syringes
