I have doing a little research about various CME's now for a while, but couldn't find a good one to attend. I am a resident and wanted to attend some CME's which are free for residents(as a resident I dont have money to spend on them) . I know a lot of online CME's, but I prefer CME's where I can meet people personally and interact with residents. So if you guys know of any kind of such CME's that are coming up in or after January 2012 which I can attend and they will be no fees for them let me know. Thanks

Are you talking about Continuing Medical Education? Usually, residency fulfills the requirements for CMEs. Could you be more specific about what you're looking for?

Yeah I am not worried about the requirement for my residency, its just for my learning and ability to meet more people from my profession. Also we get time off every year for CME from our program and if we dont use it, its a waste. So was wondering if I can use that time off to learn something new.... So wanted to know about CMEs which I can attend...Hope I was more clearer this time.

Your program gives you time off, but no money, for CMEs? 🙁

If they give you time but no money (or you spent the money on something else), then it will depend on where you are -- obviously even if it's fee free, travel and hotel is going to cost.

Pri-med is quite cheap and a good meeting: http://www.pri-med.com/pmo/Home.aspx

If you work in the area, you can often get free tickets. Used to be sponsored by some of the big insurance companies, and if you were a provider in their system it was free.

Yeah its kind of strange that our program gives us money for CME's but time off, but most of the time nobody uses it because we will have to pay for the CME's. Thanks for this link, will check them out, if there are more similar places let me know. And do I get free tickets from them? I am resident and we are not linked to their system...

Exactly. Is the OP talking about conferences?

Sorry, to get you all confused here.. I am not talking about the CME to keep our license updated, I was talking about conferences which you can attend to learn more... just an optional thing, that I wanted to do.
