karyotype for CML shows elongation of chromosome # 9 . but we know in CML there is fusion of BCR-ABL fusion resulting in Philadelphia chromosome which is chromosome #22. I thought this 22 should elongate, No?

It's a swap. The portion of 22 translocating to 9 is larger than the portion of 9 translocating to 22. Hence, 9 is elongated whereas 22 is shortened.
