i participated in a study for CMS today. they are compiling data about individual physicians costs for treating patients and comparing them with peers. it appears to be fairly comprehensive, tracking costs of specialists, PCPs, surgeons, imaging, labs, DMEs, and SNFs. to me this is the death knell for capitation, while it may be trying to increase quality of care.

anyone else participate in this lately?

I've done 'em before, like when they were looking to assign RVUs for carpal tunnel injection, TPIs vs tendonsons. Turned out ok.
