I'm currently co-enrolled in a University and a Community College, though I take most of my classes at the University. I'm also taking my prereqs there, except math (no place in class for me). The community college is mostly for basic university requirements.

My question is: how will Med school admissions boards see that? Will they just shrug it off, or will they see it as a negative thing? I'm a little worried, so any input is welcome.

I don't think you have much to worry about. Take your pre-reqs at the 4 year school if possible, and if anyone asks tell them you did it to save money.

Or if you are in CA, because you couldn't accommodate your classes at your university and to be on time to apply, your only source was CC. Just dont take all of your pre-reqs at the CC, take some and take upper division sciences at the university.

Ok, thanks. Great advice, actually; I actually am doing it for those reasons. 🙂

I took all of my core requirements for my undergrad (not med school prereqs) at a cc....have gone through 4 interviews so far and it hasn't been brought up once. You're fine 🙂

(I took all my med school prereqs at the 4 year though)

you know i've never understood the whole problem with cc's
in my state of maryland the community colleges of montgomery county and howard county are considered better then colleges like frostburg in northern maryland..
most people who go to college umbc or university of maryland are told to take there summer classes at montgomery college and howard college

My CC is viewed very similar....my pharm and med school did not care the least bit.....just get As....that is all!!
