CO School Question

Any thoughts on Rocky Vistas D.O program. Im going to get my AS at PPCC and was thinking of staying in state and seperating from AD Air Force then transferring to CO State or CU to finish my BS. Naturally, heavilly favoring D.O. I should probably consider the D.O. program in the same state after all of this.

Its true I would like to get back to the east coast namely SC but would I be looking at any considerable advantage of shooting for this program since I would already be in state? assuming grades & MCAT are solid would something close by be alot more likely than relocating?

Also, according to the site they will look at you around 90 creds even worth it to apply at this point? I may just have all pre'reqs done by 90 and test MCAT so just curious...

I mean like all of us im looking for what will give me the best shot and if that ends up meaning putting my selfish relocation desires aside to get a better shot at med school well then thats what its gotta be

i have not read all of it. it is pretty overwhelming. a lot of information against it but some very valid points for it. as far as the 90 credits, all schools say you must have 90 credits, but what they really mean is you must have a degree before you matriculate (unless of course you are in a special program). and when you say "apply at this point" are you talking right now for a start this august 2011? no. are you applying this summer for 2012 entrance? if you can have your degree done by then, sure. if not, no.

RVU is a private school, they give you no benefit for being in-state versus out of state. I asked them when I took a tour there. Personally, I thought it was a beautiful campus, and I would go there in a heartbeat. Other people have problems because they assume that "for-profit"="poor education" however, just because a business (schools ARE out to make money as any business is) is for profit versus non-profit does not mean its quality is different. Many health insurance companies are NPO's and they are just as busy trying to steal my money as a for-profit insurance company...
