I know I can find tuition of different schools if I really wanted to, but considering how tedious it would be to determine living costs with everything else, I'll ask here. After crunching the jaw-dropping numbers for my school and figuring increases in tuition I figure NYMC will cost me between $280-300K + interest when all is said and done.

What's the damage for the rest of you guys? Just so we can share the misery...and I won't feel so nuts for doing this whole "doctor" thing. 😳

UNC...im hoping I can go somewhere bw 100-140K over 4 years. Thats my goal.

I think Tulane is something like 70k/year. I feel your pain. 🙁

Tufts $305,000, Loyola $250,000...private schools are all pretty much in the same boat.

I actually lol'ed when I saw this in real life :laugh:

I was almost on the ground with this one :roflcopter::roflcopter:

Come on guys - catch the jokes every now and then! Even if they are science-based lame ones 😎

Thank you, Admiral. I laughed when I read the courteous correction as well.

at least $168K +interest after 4 years after NYU.

$170K + interest @ Vanderbilt

I hope you all enjoyed the joke at my expense.

in terms of CoA, i have it a little easier than most i suppose.

tuition $8,500
fees $2,200
books, rent, food, etc $???

edit. technically, we can take up to ~$35K out per year.

109,000 at uwash wwami

Hey mtnman, is that just for tuition? Mine is a lot more than that for total cost of attendance. I think my total offer of loans for year one was 31k, and obviously that goes up every year, so I was figuring well over 130k....

EDIT: just did the math, and looks like somewhere in the neighborhood of 180k if you took out the max all 4 years. I hope to take less than that though

i mentioned this in another forum, but anyways...

using some convenient online calculators, my total debt will be about $92,000 by the time i graduate (including living expenses). if i repay the loan over 10 years, i will be paying ~$32,000 in interest, leaving a grand total of $124,000 debt paid.

interest sucks. :d

I think I am looking at about 120-125k after 4 years at Howard University College of Medicine. Who knows, we shall see.

I figure I'm looking at about $250,000 if I don't get any help... They've got my nuts in a vice grip because I don't have another acceptance as a bargaining chip.
