This may be too obvious a suggestion, but look for programs that offer geriatric medicine and geriatric psychiatry fellowships. The more geriatric specialists there are, the broader your education will be. The existence of these fellowships are also a good sign that there is a large geriatric population in that area.

Iowa and Demasio is a good suggestion, but UCLA with Jeff Cummings is probably the mecca for dementia/neuropsych stuff. But to paraphrase Kasimagore, Whether you can survive LA, though, is a different story. 😱
