Would this qualify as an "other science" in the AADSAS GPA calculation? The AADSAS Info PDF doesn't specifically list CogSci in either non-science or other-science category. Anyone have any experience with this? This course was provided by the Cognitive Science department, not the Pschology dept if that makes any difference...

I'm actually a Psychology major and Cognitive science minor, so I've been having the same thoughts as you.

I asked my HPO advisor, and she said that Cog Sci is not a science class. But she also told me that some classes could be science at my own discretion. So for instance, there are some psychology classes that I will put down as science classes. As for Cog Sci, I'll include it if it raises my science GPA, if not, then I'll leave it as a non-science 🙂

It doesn't really matter what you label it. If it helps out your science GPA then included it but if not leave it off. The AADSAS people will go through and verify your grades and if they see that you have classified something that they don't agree with they will change it. A few of the labels/classifications on my application changed after the GPAs were calculated. And truthfully, one class hardly makes a GPA difference unless your grades are extremely inconsistent. Hope this helps.

If you want to be safe, you could call AADSAS.
