Hi

I am Phd student. My research is looking into relationship between knowledge transfer stickiness and tacit knowledge in the organization. I am also looking into the effect of cognitive style similarity between supervisor and subordinate in tacit knowledge transfer in the organization.

I have calculate the cognitive similarity by subtracting the score of subordinate from supervisor and regress it with the tacit knowledge transfer, but the result is not significantly related. It is not consistent with the previous literature.

Could anyone advise on the other way of calculating the cognitive similarity and also the other way of analyzing this variables?

Many thanks

I'm not sure you're going to find anyone with enough specific knowledge of your field to help you with this particular problem, but here's a good strategy to try:

1) Is the analysis you used standard in the literature? If not, try doing *exactly* what others have done. If so, you may simply just not have replicated the effect. Thing about reasons you might have failed to replicate--Did you measure your constructs (e.g., cognitive style) differently? Were you applying this to a new population?

2) You should probably take your data and analysis to your supervisor and have a talk about it. They will know more than anyone on an internet forum. 🙂

Good luck!

Hi

Thanks for your views. Actually I have tried the analysis used in the literature and do exactly as suggested. The measurement of cognitive is also standard the only different things is I have applied the measurement to a new population, in Asian contry. Is there any concern related to this population? Any idea?

I have discuss this matter with my supervisor and he is the one who suggested for me to post this issues in the forum, just in case we might overlooked anything...

Thanks
