Hi Everyone,

So i've heard recently that you need to start collecting teeth for dschool. Does UNLV require you to also collect teeth and if so how many?

thanks!

Collecting teeth isnt that bad, if you call a few dentists they should be able to start collecting them for you. My advice to you is to not worry about having them in your hand the first day. Wait until they let you know what you need to do with them. We didnt need ours until this semester, which means if you picked yours up from the dentist in august you would end up holding on to them for 5 months- yuck. Let the dentist know you would like them to keep collecting during that time... it isnt that big of a deal, get as many as you can

UNLV doesn't require you to collect teeth until the end of your 4th year so you can use them for WREB.

I wanted to start collecting extracted teeth. Can danhook tell us what solution did you use for storing the teeth? Some says 50/50 alcohol an water solution, some say formaldehye~???

I used a 1:10 bleach to water solution- its cheap, simple, easy to get your hands on and does not ruin any of the teeth. I stored mine for about 6 months prior to using them- I highly recommend it.
