So much effing better than high school. I get to work out in the rec center before class, and class is simple, just notes, and the studying and work isnt even that hard. Obviously when i get into chem/physics/etc. it will be harder, but so far it is already better than high school.👍

You started college already? It's a bit early don't you think? 😵
Well, glad to see your enjoying yourself. I only have one more year of HS to go. -.-

Shinobiz11,
I think college is awesome too. I love the freedom and some of the courses are easier. Have fun now because when you start the harder science classes, it might be stressful. I spend most of my time at the library because it’s distracting to study at home but, I still love college.
Good luck!

Yeh, I wish I could be in my library for studying but I dont have a car yet and I am only there for two days.

@ Gigantron

Yeh, I started in summer to keep myself from slacking off in the. Plus they gave me a scholarship to take a class in the summer.

Give it a year or two and let's see what you say then.

You're probably also not taking as many credits in the summer as you would in the fall. Meh...live it up, I suppose. It's gonna get harder. 👍

the first post has declared my status on the future. anyway i have Psych100 online and Journey to latin America class. I know it will get harder and i'll probably hate it by the time I'm done, but I am a man of the moment.

@ anishannayya , I took my first online quiz today, got 100% . we dont have tests apparently, this class is mostly just a homework/discussion grade.

For the summer I’m taking A&PII, developmental psych, nutrition & diet analysis, & humanities. It's hard but not overwhelming. I should be studying now as you can imagine but I’m just taking a little break on SDN =]

Shinobiz11,
I don't drive yet either but, I ride the bus and occasionally get a ride from a friend. It’s important to either find a study space at your home or find a way to stay at school. I am there from 7-5 M-R & spending that much time @ school is killer but, my grades wouldn't be as high if I were studying at home

Go Blue.

It'll be even better when the football stadium if packed with fans and you're tailgating.

Wait until you start to burn out, and people invite you to parties. You'll start realizing how unfair life can be.

whatever u do, get good grades in your first year. If you can have fun and party and get good grades then do that. If not, focus more on schoolwork. The last thing you want is a bad first semester/year and have to play catch up the next 2 years just to get a shot at med school

I may have come in at midnight with a lampshade on my head once in my day...

There is no better way to come in. You know its a successful night when you wake up somewhere and have no idea where you are and how you got there and you also have the hot swiss girl from the tennis team beside you haha.

just wait until you get in a weeder course (or two in one semester) and your fun time will be cut down

People here are freaking depressing. College has stressful parts, but the experience as a whole is awesome. Enjoy

Yeah, college is definitely amazing. I'm not sure about this "I don't party" philosophy, though. That sounds like a recipe for a pretty boring life if you don't ever let down and have some crazy times. Note that partying=/= being intoxicated.

Then I guess I party every day😀

always room for fun, just not parties lol

when you look back on this statement in 20 years you will make fun of yourself and wish you had a time machine so as to slap your own face

Eh I guess it depends where you went to high school, what you're used to, your personality, and how well you can handle your schedule.
I think college is GREAT and is pretty chill. And I have a great GPA and whatnot too. But I certainly know of friends who would not agree with me at all. So it really depends from person to person.

yeah I remember freshman year I thought college was even easier than high school, so much free time. You're right, it'll be much different when you get past the gen eds so enjoy it while you can.

College was the best six...err...four years of my life! 😀 Moderate stress is good in college, it will keep you motivated. The best advice I can give for undergraduate is to find some balance while you find yourself. Don't stress over a B or C, just do better your next semester.

awww cute lil pup. if you ever wanted to kow what it would feel like to fail at something, go ahead and &$*#&$#* your freshman year. everyone gets a pass as long as you kick ass last three. and if after you graduate if you have no #&$^#$*&^#^ idea what you wanna do just continue taking random classes for a semester or two and or change your environment as much as possible. Do not spend the next 5 years daydreaming, trust me it wont be cool when you wake up one day and realize youre 27.

This thread is called "College is awesome," not "My depressing life."

That goes for the aforementioned and everyone else who likes to add the "just you wait!" snipes.

College is awesome, period. It's never so hard that you can't have fun at least a few days out of the week. It gets more difficult but you get better at managing time, so the ratio of stress : ability to handle it never totally tilts out of control.

And you're at a big state school which is even better, live it up and don't let people BS you with the idea that you're supposed to be staring out a library window watching the rain all the time.

I just figured that was the connotation we were going with, but by your definition yes partying is awesome 😀

👍. I think a lot of people are bitter because they spent their undergraduate years huddled under a textbook.

College is awesome. Freshman year is unbelievable. Other than that it has its ups and downs, but overall it's fun, great experience. Just balance fun and studies that's it.

i can tell you did bad on the RC section.

College is the best character building environment that incorporates fun into the mix 🙂. I definitely experiment a lot. I like to look at college as a place to eliminate majority of the "what if" situations in life.

College was pretty awesome. It was much, much more awesome when I moved out of my parents house into an apartment with some guys.

I find it amusing when the other college students are saying "Just you wait!" No, just YOU wait. You'll realize that he's right. College was awesome.

Lol, yeah freshman year is awesome..

Just wait, you'll be thinking how awesome organic, anatomy, micro, etc.. is soon enough 😉
