So what do you guys do with your old college notes/books/exams/etc? Do you keep them? Throw them away?
Do you really need to keep them?
I have a box full of all my notes from college and I don't know whether or not to chuck them or not.

They're probably pretty worthless unless you had Lippincott's for an undergrad biochem class.

Keep them if you just think it's cool to keep them for some reason, but not because you think they'll help you. They will be absolutely useless for med school.

What do people usually do? Throw them away? Keep them?
What purpose would they ever fill if you decide to keep them? in the future....

I threw everything away. They're completely useless.

Most people trash theirs, but who cares what most people do? They're your notes.

They wouldn't have much of any purpose. Again, keep them if you just want to keep them for some reason.

I kept a lot of my notes from college for nostalgic reasons. I have not touched them since. I seriously regret all the dust they have collected...

I took a look at my calculus notes a few months back at home and my only thought was, 'I haven't looked at this in 8 years and I don't remember ****."

I kept a lot of notes from non-science classes, just because I find the topics interesting. But yeah, most of my science notes are out the window. the only thing I found useful was my cell bio notes, because my professor would draw a ton of diagrams for different processes. So I found those somewhat useful in my first semester of med school to remind me of the big picture.

I kept mine and use them for reference during my MS1 courses. Our textbooks for science courses generally have coincided with the books required for medical school thus far, and most of notes from undergrad are more in-depth than what we have covered in medical school thus far.

If your school isn't known for extremely comprehensive biology courses, you could probably sell your books back and pass on your notes to someone at your school (or burn them).

You are the first person I've seen who says that they used college notes for medical school reference.

I gave my notes to a homeless guy on the street and he laughed at me for getting a C in Organic Chemistry.

I can't believe so many people are trashing their old notes. Recycle!! 😎

If I ever do need that 1.2 MB of disk space, I will just trash them 😉

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who keeps their college notes for nostalgic reasons 😛. I'm sure they'll never come in handy, I guess I would just feel weird throwing away 5 years of hard work.

I probably should throw them away (don't worry I'll recycle!), I'm tired of lugging these heavy boxes from place to place.

I pitched my notes except for the ones I took during my semester abroad (nostalgia factor). I did keep a few of my textbooks that I couldn't sell for anything worthwhile. I found a few of my dad's old college textbooks some years back at my house and I thought they were hilarious. I figured I should give my kids the same opportunity in 15 years or so.

My courses in undergrad were also used as graduate courses in that department (pre-research and honors track). I doubt that the normal sequence of biology at my university would have been as thorough as the courses that I took.

I threw away everything. Should have sold them to underclassmen and make some money haha.

Lol... 5 years, a BS and a masters degree and all I got was a pile of useless paper. Sad, if you think about it.

Which is why I can't seem to get rid of them...

I've actually a few med school classes where my undergrad notes paid dividends, and taught (well, reviewed) me better than my med school coursepacks. Maybe that doesn't speak too well to my med school's notes/classes but I did get what I thought was a pretty solid undergrad education.

This is just M1 though - I can't imagine my undergrad notes will come into play much next year ...
