Hello everyone!
I submitted my application August 14th.
The app was verified on August 16th.
I was invited to interview on August 16th.
I Interviewed on August 26th.
I was accepted on August 27th to DMU, and I am so excited for what the future holds! Let me know if you have any questions or just want to reach out!

Never too late.

Some people are getting in a month before school starts.

With application numbers down you'll get in somewhere.
I have a 498 MCAT but my gpa is 3.05 last 60 credits are an upward trend (3.76). Would this hold me back?

You should just call and ask them/email them. Your MCAT is higher than their reported average. Your GPA is lower and for you to have 60 credits of 3.76, but a 3.05 means you must have to have had a problematic start. MD schools would already be filled, but podiatry schools often aren't. Smaller schools are usually more reliable at filling than larger schools.

Here's my battle for you. DMU does a lot of things right. Their entrance stats aren't necessarily amazing, but their board scores are usually pretty great. I did interviews for DMU as a student back in the day and DMU wasn't afraid to reject. I read some of the professor's notes after the interview. Students where I thought "damn, this kid is weird" - got rejected. We joke about podiatry admissions being a rubber stamp, but I saw a bunch of people short a personality or the ability to make eye contact getting a no.

Be normal. Be honest. Be truthful. But also know that the time to apply to anything and everything is usually at the beginning of the cycle.

I didn't go to DMU so can't speak to that.
Would take Heybrother's advice.
Show them you want to be there and are motivated
If there were any deficiencies or issues that caused the low GPA, tell them what changed between now and then and emphasize those changes are permanent.
What Heybrother said.

Be genuine. Work hard. Be kind to those around you even if they don't deserve it or treat you worse.

Thank you both. I have an interview next month with DMU. Looking forward to it.
