How often are psych majors accepted to NYCPM? What additional classes should a psych major take in order to have a better chance of getting accepted to NYCPM? :scared:

Just apply. then hold your breath. You have a better chance of getting in if you can hold your breath for a long time.

so psych majors aren't often admitted to NYCPM?

if you have completed all the basic courses required for the application and passed them with success, you'll be fine.

seriously though, calm down....you're gonna have a heart attack

i was an anthropology and gender studies major and got into NYCPM...so, as long as you take the pre-reqs and have a decent gpa..i dont think they are going to look down upon you b/c you are a psych. if anything, it might play in your favor not to be a science major like most of the applicants

just my 2 cents 😉

your major in college does not matter one lick.

As long as you did well in your major and in the pre-reqs that is all that matters.

If you choose a major like engineering or pharm because it looks hard but then get a 2.0 average - well then it still looks bad and it looks like you were not even interested in your major.

Why pick a major if you are not even interested in it?

anyone can get in at NYCPM. this guy had a history major and got accepted. he hardly spoke English too.

your major in college does not matter one lick.

I am beginning my third year at NYCPM and I majored in Psychology at SUNY Albany. As many people have previously stated, the major does not matter as long as you have the pre-requisites (general chem, organic chem, physics, and general biology.)

Personally, I would recommend taking Biochemistry in undergrad if at all possible. Biochem is taken the first semester then you enter NYCPM and it is typically the most difficult course of your first semester.
