Soo...on the CSU admissions portal under the announcement section it has the date 12/4 and the announcement is that:

ALL OFFER/ALTERNATE/DENY NOTIFICATIONS will be posted via the DVM Admissions Portal. Only OFFERED candidates will receive both a hardcopy letter and an email notification.

Does anyone know if this means that notifications will actually happen today or if they are just reminding us of the admission notification procedures?? Why do they have to post confusing things like this?? Anyone know whats going on???

Thanks!

Since they sent out an email a few weeks back to check on the admissions portal AFTER December 28th to see your accept/deny/waitlist decisions, I'm assuming that date still stands.

They probably just put the details up like to reiterate that people shouldn't expect to get anything in the mail unless they are accepted.

I don't know about you guys but I'm getting a little tired of these e-mails. My heart drops everytime.

ahhh!!

*checks portal*

still pending

booo

i wish these schools would just reject me already if that is what it comes down to!

I just saw that on the portal webpage. It makes my heart stop beating for a few seconds every time I see something from them. To make it worse, I am a grad student in the department here, and I get email everyday from people in the College of Vet Med. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, except I am waiting for Dec 28th 🙂

Man when I finally have to read the decision I'm sure my brain will short a few circuits by the time I get to the end of the first sentence!

I would have died by now if I got e-mails from them everyday. It is already bad enough to get an e-mail every once in a while. Good Luck!! :luck: Dec. 28th is only 24 days away. I have to wait until Jan. 8th (WICHE process takes longer). Oh well it is getting closer by the minute!!

I was thinking about making one of those paper chains that you make in grade school to count down for Christmas 🙂

 That would be awesome; you could put pictures of animals on the chains. I seriously feel like a kid waiting for a big event. 😀

Hmmmm.... a craft project may be in order for this evening!

I don't know why I'm doing this but im on their website looking at their curriculum and awesomeness and I'm getting all psyched...for defeat 🙁 lol

Also does anyone know more about the VetPrep program? It sounds cool.

i'm in the vet prep program. and there's a whole thread about it. it's really great. and there's only 8 students that get into this program every year. 🙂 so we all know eachother and we all have a great time with eachother. anyway, look up that thread and if you have any more questions you can PM me. 🙂

Have any regular pool applicants (not combined degree, WICHE, etc.) received Co. State rejections yet? I wasn't sure based on other threads...

OOS, no rejection... yet lol

Yes some people have received rejections. From what I understand though they were people in the "early academic review" pool. Basically people with a GPA of 3.2 or lower were evaluated in an initial round. Some were rejected from that round while the others had their applications moved to the normal pool of applicants for continued review.

I don't think anyone else (besides dual degree candidates) has heard about any other decisions yet.

Does anyone know why CSU is not doing interviews?

Some schools don't. In addition to CSU both NCSU and Cornell do not conduct interviews either. There are also schools that do not conduct interviews for in state students, though I don't know which ones of the top of my head.

Michigan does not interview except in exceptional circumstances.

Colorado stopped interviewing OOS applicants a while ago, and interviewed IS applicants until 2 years ago. I spoke with Sherry Stewart at CSU and she said that they looked at applicant scores over multiple years prior to and following interviews and did not notice a significant change in their selection pool. I am not sure how their interview process differed from other schools, but I do know that they tout a very thorough application review. Maybe that was a factor.
