Just curious, as I am not applying for that one. Any one knows that $70,000/year University of Colorado charges for non-resident, is it just the first year or is it for each of the four years? It doesn't really say on the web site.

i didn't even know they took out of state apps...

i know UIC here in illinois is over $50k a year for out of state, though, and that's for all four years.

I'm pretty sure that you just pay the 70k out of state tuition the first year. After that, they let you declare yourself a Colorado resident. It actually ends up balancing out over the four years to being roughly equivalent to the tuition you'd pay at a private me school.

70K is for the 1st year. After that you can get residency in Colorado and pay in-state tuition.

Well since you spend your whole bankroll on the first year, they better give you in-state tuition the next four years.

Curious, how much is instate tuition?

$70K, they must be crackheads up in CO.

instate tuition is around $20K. However, that might change if Ref C&D don't pass... there's talk that all tuition will be going up by 80% or more. I think enough folks are pretty pissed off at the government right now and upset about our energy rates (my heat is expected to be 104% higher than last year) that C&D stand a good chance of being defeated.

$70k+$20k+$20k+$20k= CRACKHEADS!
:meanie:

I'll stay in Texas thank you, $6K a year with scholarships like candy.

Right now I would be willing to pay the out of state tuition to just get a f**king interview at my state school!

gd, you and I both.
Check out the August MCATer thread. Another OOS with a Colorado interview!

Yah, I just saw that. I stand by my original hypothesis: they're looking at more OOS to make up for the anticipated C&D denial.

Also ShyRem, check out the Wall of Fame. A female CO resident got into CU 3 days after her interview. Be honest Shyrem, did you divulge ALL of your criminal record to CU or was there not enough space to list your indiscretions.

Hmm. Perhaps it was a problem with my husband arresting one of the adcom members while they were at RockJam. I *told* him not to use the tazer!!!!

I thought I read a few months ago that instate was 38K a year... but then ShyRem said $20. Maybe the $38K was an estimate w/ living expenses?
Anyhow. Yes, there are crackheads in CO. Especially in Capitol Hill. But I doubt you'd find them in medschool. It's possible, I guess. Maybe if they were strolling through campus. With their shopping cart. And without all their teeth...

Possibly, but how did I get linked to that incident? I was totally out of town when that **** happened!

The financial aid link on CU's site is down (yup, another affirmation of my hypothesis), but for 2004 MD tuition was $15,333 instate and $67,000 out of state.

it's only $70k guys, just think of how small that number is once you won the loterry.
