Colorado woman faces charges of lying about PhD to become state psychologist

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It’s astonishing the variance in licensing board experiences across states. Some states it feels like applying for security clearance, while other places it’s not much more effort than getting a fishing license. The fact she worked with/for the govt makes it feel even more egregious.

I am sure we will see some lawsuits coming up from the individuals involved in the cases she was assigned to. This is definitely awful and I can't believe the licensing process isn't more stringent. It feels like the bare minimum would be confirming educational background.

What surprises me the most is that the CO board didn't seem to ask for transcripts or she was able to somehow present cogent fakes.

Making it weirder, Colorado has some weird laws where you can you can get licensed as an "unlicensed psychotherapist". Why wouldn’t you just do that?!

How was she caught??
She did child custody work, pissed off a parent who looked into her credentials.

My state required verification from my DCT, internship director, and fellowship director about my training…

This is a wild con…
