I applied to Columbia too, in the few coming days I will know what is the outcome of that...

It will be tough for people who will receive an invitation from Pacific and USC to attend Columbia since their interviews are usually on the 27, 30 of October...

Monreal - any idea how many folks called for interviews?
 
do u have idea about the number of seats for international students in columbia?

I have no idea how many applicants are invited...I called in July, I was told by the admissions director that they had 2 seats at least! It was a bit early to know about more openings.

They have 4 positions and over 100 applications
 
do they have the interview only on that one day or can it be postponed also....
i haven't heard anything from them yet.....just asking...

thats the only date for an interview nd bench test.. you should hear from them soon...

And I took my old pattern exam..

I too got my rejection letter fron University of Columbia .Looks like they dont care for anything beyond stats.Probably no point in even reapplying to the program .

Hey guys does anyone know if the clinical exam is going to be like a bench top exam or on a mannikin......

congratulation to you too monreal .....and well that was going to be my next question to you monreal......they dint say anywhere in the letter that we have to call to confirm them about our spot......they jus said that in case we wont be appearing in the interview then we should inform them about it.....but in any case i am gonna call them up tomorrow first thing in the morning and confirm that well i shall surely be attending the interview....😀.....i m surprised though that they dint charge any thing for the bench exam....
 
Does anyone know which typodont do they use at columbia univ.....my guess is columbian 🙂rolleyes🙂 but i wanted to be sure before starting practicing....

They should claim $100...anyway keep your checks in pocket on Nov.5th
 
their website says the bench test is on the mannequin..

and i did cal up sterday to confirm - but ms.lugo wasnt at her desk and spoke to dr.mcmannus .. need to cal again today ..

I called up the admission office today ...however they told me that some renovation is going on and adviced me to call up on wednesday to speak to Ms Lugo......but i did sent her an email confirming my spot for the interview.....i will call on wednesday again just in case.....
 
Congrats to Jayashree,Dental doc80,and Monreal for interview call.I also got one.It will be helpful if anyone can give me some information how you are preparing for the bench exam.Also please be in touch for sharing accommodation for november 5th.

I didn't get any reply from columbia, neither acceptace nor rejection. I tried to call them, but got answering machine of diana lugo.

I am in the same boat.....neither rejection nor acceptance...just waiting to hear from them.
 
Got my letter....REEEEJECTED!!! was what it said on it....HAHAHAHA :laugh:

Well wasnt all that funny when I got it....

Got an email from Columbia saying that my application review is pending and any decision will be made regarding interview or rejection based on current interviews, mean if some one doesn't appear for interview or they feel that they need to interview more ppl. We know that columbia accepts only one to two candidates each year.

Did Ms. Lugo mention during wat week of nov or dec. will they call the standby pple (if at all they wanna call them) ????
 
I cancelled my interview, so they may call somebody out of that pending list!

She didn't mention the exact date, she said some time during november. If any one else gets a call out of pending applications plz share.

Status for Advance Standing applicants have been mailed over two weeks ago. However, the reason you haven’t received anything is because your application is currently on standby. What does this mean? It means that your file has not been rejected, instead it has been reviewed and considered for our program but we’ve scheduled the strongest candidates for interviews first and those candidates will interview the first week of November. Once we have interviewed those candidates, if we don’t select our students from that group then those on standby will be contacted for interview and possible consideration for the class beginning this upcoming January 2008.

Please stay positive, this is not time to get discouraged because amongst hundreds of applicants you were amongst those strong candidates and still have a chance. So I ask that you please be patient until after these interviews are conducted which will be in November. You should hear from us then. Thank you.

each file is being reviewed accordingly. If we require additional
