One of Columbia's requirement is three letters of recommendation from science professors. I submitted two science, one non-science, and a dentist through AADSAS. Did anyone run into a problem with the required amount of letters? If so, what were you advised to do? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Same exact problem here and I sent the same thing as you with the addition of an employer letter. I sent Columbia a letter explaining why I couldn't meet what they were asking for. They haven't replied back that I should pack sand so it may have helped or they may have already burned my app. I think it's a good idea though to send them an explanation so they know you are reading their instructions and not just blindly sending out apps.

I had the same issue also- 2 science, 1 nonscience, 1 dentist. I called the school and the person I spoke to said that although they prefer 3 science letters, that is not the type of thing that would have an impact on their admissions decision. However, he did say that if it was possible to get a third science letter, that I should do that. So I just went to another science teacher and had her send that letter directly to the school instead of to AADSAS. Hope this helps.

I called Columbia a few weeks ago, they answered that my letter from the dentist would be accepted if I was supervised or observed by the dentist. However, in my case I only observed the dentist. I sent them an email and have not received a reply. I will try calling them again. I'm not sure I can get another science professor to send a letter in for me. Thus, I'm not sure if it is worth sending in $75 app fee if I don't meet the requirements.
