Hi guys

A few weeks ago i went to the columbia open house for the post bacc program......I am just wondering if anyone here is currently in the post bacc program at columbia or has completed it coz i have a few questions.

The lady that was running the session said there were large class sizes. I was just wondering what large class sizes were like 200 students or like 50 students?

Are the classes graded on a curve? Or if there were just standard ranges for A's B's etc?

And my final questions is how do ppl find the professors? Nice, easy to understand? etc.
Any feedback is welcomed...
Thx.

The classes are about 140 people and then you have review sections called recitation that is about thirty. It meets once a week. The lab on the other hand is about 25 people where your are graded on a curve with those other twenty five). As far as grading goes for the regular courses, chemistry is not graded on a curve but physics is (88% is the average). Hope this helps.

Curved grading is dependent on the professor you get, actually. Both my semesters of Gen Chem were curved, as well as both my semesters of Physics.

Most of the professors I have had have been nice. Some are interesting, others are not. Most are approachable. Some are better than others. All in all its a mixed lot, depending on who you get. For more information on specific teachers, check out www.culpa.info for students' assessments of all the professors.

busterman, are you attending this fall?
