OK, I'm having some issues honing in on a thesis for my personal statement... I can't seem to get beyond the generalities of why I want to be a doctor or why I would make a great physician. I was wondering if anyone can share how they came to their thesis? Would be even better if you might be willing to share specific examples!

Have you actually answered the question "why medicine?" That's usually everyone's thesis, when you get down to it. Everyone's supporting arguments will differ, however, as that's more personal.
If I were to ask you, "so why do you want to become a doctor," how would you respond?
