I'm only a 4th year, but I can tell you this.
Programs I have spoken to in the surgical fields all think anything above a 580ish was good enough. Thats including neurosurgery and ortho programs. Most programs want to see you rotate at the spot. Some ortho programs even told me a 500 was good enough. I think anything below average and you're out of luck.
A 597 is basically an 88-90th percentile. You have to think you have a good shot with that.
