Which one would you recommend......considering I have about 2 months left until my comlex exam.......been reading both on and off during the year....but want to pick one to focus on.....thank you.....

JP-
From what I remember, I didn't use either. I used the 1999 Kaplan USMLE review books (I took COMLEX in 2001), and did take 1 or 2 of the tests in the Board Review Simulator Series. They all had like 4 tests in them,b ut I only did 1 or 2 in each book. I also read First Aid for USMLE. Not much else.

I scored 93%ile on Step 1.

Good luck!

I recommend Boards and Wards. I liked the outline format--not too wordy, but still lots of good info. Good for clinicals too (hence the name, huh?)
I would know First Aid really well, esp behavioral science. I used qbank and would probably recommend it, but don't get hung up on the hundreds of HLA's they quiz on. I didn't have one HLA on USMLE.
Boards and Wards, first aid, and a few of the high yields were my only sources for the 3.5 wks I studied, and I scored in 230's (and was pleased).
Good Luck!

oh for the sake of all that's remotely pure and wholesome, please, please, please use BRS PATH.

Know every single word in that book like your life depends on it. Buy 4 or five copies, keep a couple in your car, laminate one for the shower.

I hadn't taken pathology when I took step 1 (signed up without knowing the importance of pathology on step 1). Still landed a peachy distance into the top 5%. And I owe it all to that little old-fashioned looking piece of literature.

Sincerely, (exageration aside)

BellKicker.

Unfortunately, I had very, very little pathology on USMLE. Lots of biochem, histo, and behavioral science. Good thing about boards and wards is that it includes some pharm, histo and physiology (I'm not familiar with BRS path, it may too).
