......I dont know if this has been discussed already but I just found out and I am so happy and thought I will share it with yall

It is my understanding that it won't affect those taking the June 2005 COMLEX, but will be implemented starting in the Oct. 2005 test. Please correct me if I am wrong, because I would rather not have to take the written two day marathon.

Beginning in July 2005 all COMLEX-USA examinations will be administered by computer, and after this date, paper/pencil tests will no longer be available. The NBOME has selected Thompson-Prometric of Baltimore, MD to deliver the new state-of-the-art computerized COMLEX-USA examinations. A trial test of the computer-based examination will be held in late January, 2005. We encourage second year students preparing for Level 1 to participate. More information will be available to this web site soon.

Well, July 05 is after we have to take the test on 7-8 June. So, we'll be taking the ol' scan tron. 👎

I dont know about that May be there will be no exam in june and you all will take it in july. you know it doesnt make sense to give 2 -days written exam in june when computerized exam will be available in July. 😕

You will be more apt to stay sane if you just throw all reason and logic out the door when dealing with the osteopathic bureaucracy.

I know this is a pretty old thread - does anyone know if COMLEX 2 (after july 2005) is going to be a schedule it yourself type thing like the USMLE. Are we all still going to have to take it in January 2006?

What does the "Thompson-Prometric of Baltimore, MD" part mean? Does that mean the test will only be offered in Baltimore?

😕

the thompson prometeric is basically a sylvan learning center. the usmle is overseen by them too Have banks of computers with a satellite hook-up and little cameras at each terminal watching you and listening to you. they have them all over the place.

Ahh... Thanks guys!
I had never heard of Prometric before, I have only heard of Sylvan.
