My school has problems with helping us through residency applications. I just heard today that ERAS is available through a classmate, so I'm already a little behind. Does your school have any timeline or instructions for ERAS that you could share? Also, if I want to submit my COMLEX I scores, do I just go to documents and request it or do I have to order transcripts through the NBOME website? If I do it now before my Step II scores are in, will I have a choice to submit Step II when I get my score? Thanks!!!

Have you been to the ERAS website? Choose the "Osteopathic applicants" option (unless you are applying to all allo programs, when you might want to choose the "Residency Applicant" option), and there is a ton of information about how to sign up, timelines, etc.

The application season for Osteo programs opened July 15th.

The application season for Allo programs will open on Sept 2nd.

You can send your COMLEX scores now, and then send them again (electronically) when you get new scores. You can also request that your scores automatically be reported when available (although most on SDN would suggest that you not do that)

Do I need to send my comlex to allo programs. I have my USMLE's sent, I would think most would look at it and say what is this?

You do not need to. However, some PD's are very comfortable with COMLEX scores, and if your's are missing, that could raise some red flags. Seems to me that some PD's will look at them and use them, and some will ignore them, but I doubt anyone will look at them and say "Oh my god! COMLEX scores! Reject this one".

So, as long as your score was good, I'd release them. If you did much better on the USMLE than the COMLEX you could consider holding the COMLEX back, but even in that case I'd tend to "trust" the USMLE score more anyway.

so no fees for USMLE to be released? Do we just do it through ERAS or do we have to login to USMLE website and release scores from there?
