Hey guys,
Just wondering what to expect on COMLEX test day. I've tried looking on the nbome site and on this site, but I can't seem to find the answers.

Wondering about break time. I barely made it through 1 block on the USMLE before I had to pee. Can we take breaks whenever we need to during the 4 hour long session or do we absolutely need to wait until the 2nd block to be able to take that 10 minute break?

I know others have said we'll have access to white board and markers. No calculators on the test. Anything else that was different from the USMLE test day?

Thank you for any help/advice you have.
Good luck to everyone.

COMLEX is timed completely differently than USMLE. In COMLEX there's a 4 hour morning session of 4 blocks and a 4 hour afternoon session of 4 blocks. The individual blocks are not timed, so if you want to take 3 hours to complete 1 block and 1 hour to complete the remaining 3 blocks, then you can.

You can take a break up to 10 minutes long after 2 blocks, but the break time counts against your 4 hour block time.

In between the sessions is a 40 minute lunch break that does not count against your time. Additionally you can't access any outside information during the sessions, but you can during your lunch break.

Yeah I'm really irked by the fact that I have to sacrifice test time go urinate haha!

I loved that about USMLE. I finished each block about 5-10 minutes early, so I got a 5 minute bathroom/water break between each block, a 35 minute lunch break, and then a 20 minute break between blocks 5 and 6 just chatting with the other test takers. I was more stressed the day before the test than during the test (even if I wanted to break my computer with a few of the questions).

Yeah I plan on just trying to finish the block 2 with 10 minutes ahead. Unless its super hard. But congrats on finishing USMLE. When are you taking COMLEX or are you?

If you aren't you're a good samaritan for answering the OPP's question.
