COMLEX/USMLE Confusion

COMLEX has 3 steps, just like USMLE
The first COMLEX is usually taken ~ end 2nd
year medical school. COMLEX step2 is taken 4th year of medical school. The final exam is taken during the internship.
No students don't have to take the USMLE unless they practice in Louisiana (apparently). A full discussion is actually on this site at: http://www.studentdoctor.net/do/comlex.html

Louisianna now recognizes the COMLEX along with all the other 49 states in the union.
