Hi all,

I was wondering if it is worth the cost to acquire, and do both Qbanks (i.e. are the question content/style similar to each other, or do they have unique question stems/choices). If you only recommend purchasing one Qbank (in order to do well on both tests) for a DO student which would it be.

In addition, along w/ Qbank, what ONE other book of questions is highly recommended for both COMLEX and USMLE

Thanks guys, enjoy your holidays

Kaplan came to our campus and offered us discount packages. The one I plan on getting has COMLEX and USMLE qbanks for 9 mos. (which is excessive) for $400.

Perhaps your school could arrange for Kaplan to show up as well.

I bought the USMLE QBank last year and liked it. I heard from friends, however, who bought the COMLEX one that it wasn't very good. Since last year was the first time they were offering the COMLEX one, perhaps they've improved upon it since then...otherwise I'd just stick with the USMLE one. Keep in mind that with over 2000 questions plus detailed explanations, getting through QBank (even just one of them) is a huge investment in time. Are you going to really have enough time to do both?

Claymore,

you tell me........I'm an MSII at CCOM. What was your experience last year as far as time available during third quarter to study for the boards? I know we don't have Micro, but they changed the curriculum a bit for us so I don't really know what to expect. ps. How are rotations going (what sites have you liked/disliked)

Take Care

I hear you. However, considering that the non-package price for 3 mos. of just the USMLE is $379, by paying $21 more, I get both qbanks for 9 months.

Frankly, I'd rather pay $200 for 1 month of both, but that's just my cheap side talking.
