Hey guys,
Hope you might comment on this Step 2 study plan, what I can add/remove.
Taking early November.
Question Bank: World, all timed, taking notes afterward on salient points of explanations after each block into a word document that I can review prior to exam. Did about half of NMS QBook already and a few hundred Kaplan questions from a friend's account (they seem quite picky and not nearly as good as UW), but World is essentially what I will focus on exclusively, very carefully, 1-2 blocks a day, picking apart each question.
Then reading, focusing on areas identified by World as suboptimal:
Comprehensive Book: Step Up to Step 2 (seems to be preferred to FA2CK)
Followed by: Boards and Wards (more concise, hammer home)
Followed by: Secrets (even more concise, drill further)
PLUS:
-"Blue Boxes" in Blueprints OB and Peds for Highlights
-"Quick Hits" in Step Up to Medicine and color plates for images
-Reading through aforementioned USMLEWorld notes document
Then, returning to question bank and redoing all missed questions quickly, until it shows "UNUSED:0 INCORRECT: 0" and the bank is truly toast.
Plus: NBME Exams (1, 2, 4 - heard 3 sucked) at one week intervals. USMLEWorld self assessment (best predictor) at the end of all this, about a week before the exam.
Free NBME Items a few days before the exam. Final review of USMLEWorld notes document and weakest areas.
I want to destroy this exam. So in your advice, err on the side of recommending more sources if you feel something is weak. Thanks in advance. Other info: Step 1 - did very well but I worked hard for it. Haven't been reading much through third year. Getting in the low 70s on World random blocks now.
