Hello, this is my first post, yah for me!

OK, my question concerns taking a few prerequisites at a community college. Using UNC as a reference, they "prefer" said courses to be taken at a 4-year school, but I would be taking some at a local community college. The only classes would be--English and general biology 1 and 2. This would allow me to obtain an associate of arts degree, thus transferring to a univ. and majoring in biology.

Would it matter to dental schools (not talking top 10) that I take a couple pre-reqs at Com. College? For what it's worth the grades would be A's.

thanks 😍

As long as you do well in the courses, it does not matter where you take them. Many people have completed the pre-req's @ JC, and still got into repectable dental schools.

However, if you get straight A's at JC, and do mediocre or below average at 4-year university, they may question your performance in those JC classes.

At my interview at Case they told me that classes taken at a junior colloege vs. a 4-year school is something they look at. I don't think any school is going to look at them the same because everyone knows they are much easier classes. I have friends that have tried to boost thier gpa's by taking o-chem and difficult classes at jc's and i think it will hurt them a little.
