Hi. I'm finishing up my first semester at a community college and I was wondering about a few things.

*Does starting at a community college hurt your chances at getting into a Vet school?
*Right now, I have 4 As and 1 B(Chemistry). Is this going to hurt me?
*Will my community college GPA be taken into consideration when I apply to a school? Or will schools just look at the GPA of the university I transfer to?

-Thanks for your time🙂

I believe there are some people on here who started at a community college, and had no trouble getting in.

Your grades sound great! A lot of times that first semester is a tough adjustment. Chemistry is an important class and it does build, so look into improving your study habits just a little bit. (But honestly, I made a B in first semester chemistry but all the next three semesters were As so it is possible to improve!)

And yes, your CC GPA will count towards your cumulative GPA for vet school applications.

Good luck! :luck:

I started at a community college and yes, the grades do follow you since many of your basic sciences start there. Your grades are great though. Don't worry that you may not be a straight A student. Do your best. I got a C in ecology and no one even mentioned that during my interview. However, they did ask why I had a 3.9 at my c.college and it dropped to a 3.65 at the university. (it was because i had to start working 25-30 hours a week while doing full time classes)
Plus- my c.college was FREEEEE!!! Helps a lot when I'm in 40k over my head every year here at vet school 😱
