I helped people in my community clean up their homes after natural disasters. I didn't do it as a part of any organization but on my own. I knew these people through friends and family.

Would this count as community service?

Hmm... I might leave this out. It sounds like you might be fishing for brownie points for something a friend might do just because it's a good thing to do. Would you write down doing other good deeds for people?

I guess ADCOMs probably want to see organizations and what not, but this is how I perceive it so far. You can probably spin it into your favor though.

Actually you can LEAVE OUT the helping people you know through friends and family. If it sounds like you did this for strangers you did not know (which people generally do through volunteeringesque ECs), this should count as an EC and score you some points. 👍
