Anyone here applying for the class of 2007 whos going to the COMP open house on April 6/7? I'm really interested in meeting some of my(hopefully) future class mates?

Hi there (I'm actually an MS-I at COMP),
is this open house you're referring to the OMAC conference? (Osteopathic Medical Awareness Conference) I highly recommend attending that conference if you're anywhere in the area.. to get a sense for what the school looks like, walk around and talk to some students/profs, listen to the student panels, and perhaps gain a little more experience that will help when interviewing at COMP. (One of my interviewers happened to be the doctor who gave the OMM demonstration the day I attended OMAC)

Hope this helps..

Thats what I was talking about, thanks for the advise. Should I dress kind of dressy, nice slacks/shirt/tie?

Yeah, dressing up would be a nice idea although it's not necessary... most people dress up anyway. Shirt, slacks, and tie should work just fine. Enjoy.. ask questions.. try to get a wide variety of responses so your exposure isn't just limited to a specific group of students or professors. Have fun and hope you learn something there!

I actually flew in from NY, for the OMAC the year I was applying...and I really believed it helped on my gaining admissions. It is REALLY GOOD to talk about on your secondary application...and the school really looks favorably on it...
I am an MS1 here at COMP now...with Melancholy....
The conference is good, gives you a chance to see the school, meet faculty and students, and can potentially give you that little edge you need to get an acceptance letter...

If you can go....then go!

Hmm.. I didn't originally sign up to help out with OMAC.. wasn't even sure when the next one would be. If I see the opportunity and life is relatively sane, I might try and help out.. just a bit busy with neuro system right now heh.
