compared to the real test

I've done some studying to build my foundation for the last couple of weeks and then started working on some practice questions since 3 days ago
I've finished the practice exam at the end in the Kap blue book and found it ok but the destroyer seemed quite hard for me and made me feel unprepared. (I'm getting about 50% of the questions wrong;; is this normal??)

I feel destroyer is a good tool to study but after I started working on it now I can't tell if the questions are actually, purposely made harder than the dat to help or whether I'm really not ready. 😕

For those of you that had taken the dat, is the kap blue book practice exam level pretty similar to the real dat, or is the kap easier??

destroyer is significantly harder than the real deal for some sections.

bio- pretty dead on to the sort of questions you'll see on the exam, these should be totally doable


gchem- much harder than the real deal since you don't really have to SOLVE anything on the real deal, you just have to set up equations. either way, destroyer gchem is significantly harder.


ochem? terribly difficult on destroyer, and that makes sense since dr. romano is the ORGOMAN.


if you're having trouble with the destroyer, don't trip...its made to grill you and make you think. the first time i went through it was 5 days before my exam, and i had studied for 6 weeks straight prior to that, so i had a good foundation...and for gchem and ochem i was only getting about 30-40% right on the destroyer.

go through it atleast twice, understand his explanations and call him up and you will be good to go.

be wary of the people that say that theres next to no calculation on the real test----there are some versions floating around with insane amounts of calculations on gchem and ******ed time consuming multi step synthesis questions on the orgo like mine. destroyer is the best for preparing you for this stuff though.... my aa was 99.X% good luck🙂

something like that....between 85 and 90%. the things i got wrong were really obscure, but alas...some of those obscure questions ended up being covered on the exam, so make sure to go over the ones you get wrong over and over and over until you know them like the back of your hand.
