For those that are salaried, anyone getting payed per RVU? I will have a salaried job, but have to bill a certain ammount of RVUs. If I bill less, I loose money, if I bill more I make more money. Jusr wondering how common this is how much per RVU are people getting payed.

If you want an idea of the average cash value of an RVU, go to the CMS (medicare) website and look it up. No-one here will tell you how much they get paid for 1 RVU, it is negotiated and usually pretty classified info.

An RVU based salary is common especially if you work for a hospital or big health system. Not done in private practice.

Pros: you always get paid for your work, even if the patient doesn't pay their bills.

Cons: you get paid the same flat rate for all work even if the insurance pays really good and that cash goes to your bosses not you.

each insurance pays differently per RVU. For example, every physician gets the same number of RVU's for a 1 limb EMG. But each insurance pays differently for that procedure. RVU is a productivity measure
Most salaried positions have an RVU goal for the year with some sort of bonus if you reach it.
