  1. Resident [Any Field]
Hi, I have a couple quick questions for any residents currently in programs on the East Coast. I'm an M3 right now, with my heart set on doing residency somewhere on the East Coast -- Boston, New York, Philly, Baltimore, etc. I know most of the hospitals in this area are considered "competitive." I just got my board score back (>240), and I think it's pretty competitive (right?), but now I'm wondering, is there anything I should do this year, besides try to honor my clerkships, to make myself a better candidate for these programs? Is there something you did that really worked for you? Or something you wish you had done differently? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

While many of the "big name" programs are in those cities, there are plenty of programs that aren't as competitive. Go to FREIDA online (or scutwork.com) and look for programs in the cities you are interested in.
