Hey guys I'm a new member here and i've been reading posts on sdn for a while and I seem to have run into a problem with a question which I cant seem to find the answer to.

Im a Canadian citizen doing my undergrad at the university of Calgary and was really interested in osteopathic medicine however I cant seem to for the life of me find what some competitive MCAT and GPA stats would be for a Canadian citizen applying to US D.O. schools. I apologize if it has been covered elsewhere and would like to thank everyone in advance for their responses 🙂

There isn't really any data on Canadian applicants alone. You can PM me for some info though.

You'll need stronger stats than average - 3.5/30 is reasonable

Yea OP I'd have a 30 for sure... anything lower and you'll need to be very strong in the other areas of your app.

I think the average of all international applicants that were accepted were around 3.5/28. There are some schools that have a strong history of taking Canadians, such as MSU.

Canadian applicants are pooled differently at MSU, as they take in more Canadians. The average was 3.68/29 last year I believe (among Canadians who were accepted), and this is coming from a very solid source.

This is not a source that specifies Canadian nor am I trying to debunk you. That probably is the average at MSU. Just putting this national stuff out there:

3.57/28.67 for "foreign."

"foreign" doesn't categorize international applicants though... it's just race/ethnicity. The number of people classified as foreign doesn't match up with the number of international applicants or people who matriculated.

You'll find a lot of stuff doesn't add up together in this spreadsheet, but you may be right about what it means to be foreign.
