How exactly would you define competitiveness for specialities like cards and GI? For non subspecialties, there are stuff like grades, board scores, AOA, to determine how competitive it is to get into somewhere, rather than just pure acceptance % which doesn't mean that much. I heard for specialties like GI/Cards, scores are barely looked at... I would imagine recommendations/interviews to hold the most weight? If that's true, it's difficult to determine how competent the applicants are.
