hey all, I don't know if this is the right forum to post this, if not I appologize from the admin, does anyone know which "complete dental unit is the best with a decsent price"

uh...kinda depends on what you want in a dental unit. When we were installing a new dental clinic at our school, we defined a complete dental unit as having

2 walls of cabinetry acting as dividers
a dental chair and all attached air powered cords
1/2 of a digital radiology unit (1 full unit shared between 2 operatories)
1 CPU and Monitor unit

We did not include things like the assistant or dentist's chairs, rolling cabinet, or any items that would sit on top of the cabinetry. Obviously things like plumbing or general construction costs were also left out.

We went with a pretty basic Adec Set up that ran about $45,000 per unit if I recall correctly, but the added costs of a sterilization room, a panoramic machine, and other general equipment really skyrocketed the total price.

Sorry, I can't help much more. I do forget the actual names of the different units...it was a mix and match of a lot of stuff.

thanks
I was just talking about:
a dental chair
dental chair
assis chair
light

A decent dental unit costs about 7000 dollars. For more info, call King Two Dental Supplies, Inc @ (626) 581-8135. Pearson, Darby dental, and Sullivan Schein charge more. A whole operatory unit includes:

1. Belmont chair: not a high end brand but very reliable. It is made in Japan. The standard comes w/ foot control. May have to pay extra for additional hand control.
2. DCI delivery system: 3 handpiece hoses, 2 air/water sprays, 1 sal ejector, 1 high volume suction, 1 cuspidor.
3. Chairmount light (ceiling mount light costs more).

Assistant and doctor chairs are sold separately. Each costs about 150 bucks (a top of the line one costs 500 bucks....ridiculous)

There will be some discounts if you buy more units and other equipments ie compressor, X ray developer, X ray machine etc. There is a leasing program but I am not too familiar w/ it.

thanks for your informative information
