A good compromise purchase is the limited edition green Halo 360. It has an HDMI port but cheaper than the Elite edition. Remember the Elite edition is not supposed to have the overheating problems (rings of death) of the standard and Pro. I purchased my 360 Pro with the extended warranty from my local retailer. I can get an immediate replacement without having to deal with Microsoft.

I empathize with Dr. Quinn. I love Halo and Bioshock. I've had to put both away because I was showing up to work with no sleep. These games are more addictive than drinking.

I have a vacation week quickly approaching. I have only a ps2. Should I purchase a ps3, or an xbox 360? I need quick answers!

(sports games are my favorites, but I like rpgs, shooters, and everything else too)

under no circumstances should you purchase a ps3 at this point in time...that sounds very fan boyish but you will pay more for a ps3 and not get any of really awesome 360 exclusive titles...maybe in a year or so some good ps3 exclusive titles will surface...and the price will surely drop. Just my opinion though As far as RPG's go 360 just got a great one Eternal Sonata and an awesome one is soon to be released...Mass Effect.

So I'm trying to decide on whether or not to buy the elite or just the 360 pro. I've read various reviews that there really isn't much of a difference between the HD picture produced between the two (although the elite has the HDMI slot). Any ideas? Looking forward to playing H3.

Dude, get the pro. All 360's pros made after july 2007 have the hdmi slot. I know, because my 360 bricked the day bioshock came out (not even a year old) and I bought a new 360 on the spot. I wanted the base 360 cheapo, but all that little DB said they had was the pro and the elite. I'll flip the old one for a hundred $ loss or so, but I consider it a rental fee🙂

BTW, bioshock looks great in 1080p!

I broke down and got it. My GF is going to kill me. Anyways, I traded in an old xbox, 5 games, a brand new never opened controller and got a measly $40 store credit for it. What a rip...but it was $40 less that I had to pay to get my 360/Halo 3. Now I wonder if my xbox live account is still active.

The campaign is the real deal. Multiplayer is in my opinion a revival of halo 1 style which is amazing. My favorite map so far has been isolation but they are all pretty damn good. Valhalla might even be a batter CTF level than the original blood gulch.
they've nerfed the sword and rocket launcher which is the jam.
Also if any of you reside in the fort myers, fl area look for my mug on multiple news interviews at the gamestop midnight madness. I'm next to the guy wearing the pentagram shirt haha.

Grrrr...I'm on a string of nights and haven't been able to play multiplayer with my peeps. Add in that I'm probably already more than halfway through the campaign mode. At least I have the weekend off.

Damn. YOu probably should have been able to get more. I am a huge fan of selling my video games and old systems on eBay. Compared to tradiing it in at a Gamestop or similar store, I have found you can almost double or sometimes triple what they'll give you.

At one point I was going to trade in 10 PS2 games for store credit. Some of the games they only gave me $2.50 for. What I usually do is sell one "decent" game on ebay, and throw in the crappy $2.50 game for "free" and as a "bonus" and usually those auctions sell well.

Yes, I scrounge for extra ebay money even as an attending.

Wow, I got the game the day it came out and haven't even opened it 🙁. Just been too busy with boards, residency apps, and research. I also bought legendary edition....kinda disappointed bc I thought I would be able to put on master chiefs helmet. lol It's now sitting in my step-sons room for show.

I guess you were too distracted by boards to read the fine print on the packaging. I was wicked disappointed when I figured out that it would be a 3/4 size helmet. I had some faint hope that my 4'9" friend could wear it, but no such luck.

I've opened H3, but I haven't finished it - not even on easy. I blame baseball playoffs. Every time I feel like playing... the BoSox are on! Baseball postseason lasts weeks, but Halo is forever. 😛
