Where can someone learn to do compounding for IVs in a sterile room as well as other compounding. Is this something that learned on the job or is there certification for that or is that for just techs?

I'm trying to figure that one out too, because they have a lot of home infusion jobs out there. And, places won't let you volunteer due to liability, although I have heard that some do, don't know where. I can't see how every answer to experience is residency.
This is something we teach our new hires as part of training - techs and also pharmacists if they haven't had clean room experience. It happens rarely.
The real head scratcher is how many of the younger pharmacists view this as beneath them. (University affiliated teaching hospital)
Since part III (compounding exam) is a requirement for pharmacist licensure in NY, all NY schools provide non-sterile compounding and sterile IV training. Schools in other states may not require their students to have IV training to graduate.
