Compounding Recipes Resources?

Does anyone have a good source for compounding recipes? I've heard that many compounds are proprietary but there has to be books or information on the basics of compounding (ie Explains if crushing naproxen and mixing it in simple syrup a compatible mixture)... that's not my specific question, so please don't reply answering the naproxen questions.. it's just an example.

Secundem Artem available from www.paddocklabs.com provides a good bit of information about compounding. ASHP has a couple of books available for purchase about compounding for peds and geriatrics. Looking for published articles is a good option too. If you can get your hands on an old Martindale book, that would be good for older drugs. When compounding, it's important to do appropriate testing for stability, etc. I'd be leery of references that don't provide that kind of information.

there is an organization called pcca that you can join which will give you all kinds of info including, recipe, stability, etc. I myself haven't used it, but my girlfriend raves about how helpful they are.

never heard of PCCA.... 10K sounds like hi-way robbery!

try this one, it is the main source of recipes and primary literature for a large compounding pharmacy here in the Twin Cities ( the subscription fee is a little more reasonable too - http://www.ijpc.com/Subscribe/Prices.cfm )

Thank you all so very much! The information is awesome. I was just at the Paddock site and I got goosebumps reading over the recipes. I love compounding! I knew I could count on my fellow SDN'ers!

the hospital that I intern at also has recipes for some of the more common compounds (mostly liquids I believe)
