Hey guys,

I'm the type of person who needs to do a ton of questions to learn anything. On that note, I think there should be a thread with a comprehensive source of questions. I realize there are some Qbanks in the sticky FAQ thread but it isn't very comprehensive or helpful.

I'm an M1 so I'm not too experienced with Qbanks so I'll modify my post as you guys add to the thread. Please tell me the number of questions in each Qbank and any input you have. Thanks.

Comprehensive Qbanks:
  • NBME 1-6: ~1200 questions
  • USMLEWorld: ~2400 questions, pretty much the gold standard Qbank here
  • Kaplan Qbank: ~2400 questions
  • USMLERx Qbank: 3300 questions
  • Kaplan QBook: 850 questions
  • First Aid Q&A: 1000 questions
  • Robbins Review of Pathology: ~1200
  • Board Simulator Series: ~3850 questions, a 5 book series with 770 questions in each book
  • Student consult (w/ Goljan's RR): ~500 questions
  • Wiki test prep: ~1000 questions? Not sure about the number (overlaps with free 150)

Subject Specific QBanks:
  • BRS Neuroanatomy: ~500 questions (about 20 questions per chapter plus a 100 question comprehensive exam at the end)
  • Pretest Neuroscience: 500 questions

usmlerx ~ 3300 - reinforces FA, best to begin halfway through first year
kaplan qbook ~ 850 - solid questions overall, good for targeted questions during step study
robins pathology review ~ 1000 - very good detailed pathology questions, best used along with path course

above are my personal evaluations

It might also help others if we put a qualitative assessment here as well. Not along the lines of "this one RAWKS MY SAWKS OFF!" but more along the lines of describing testing options, length/depth of answers, and so on. That's a lot of work though.

Thats a good idea. If people would post question sources they used and a quick assessment, I'll just copy and paste it into the first post.
