Hi everyone,
I am writing this post because I post many questions about University of Michigan compudent program and i did not find answers .
General comments on the program from residents.
The only benefit from the program is some clinical experience.
Disadvantages:
First: This program is one year only and NOT accredited.
Second: It is a general practice only without theoretical learning only seeing patients from 8-5 every day.
Third: There is no consistency in cases or organization you will see any patient despite of the case either emergency or other things.
Fourth: Staff are not so friendly.
Fifth: Program director is busy with his researches and not caring about the students and not spend time with them in the clinics or teaching them. Students are lost between supervisors with different schools , opinions and ways of treatment and the director not helping them.
Sixth:There is only 5 days time away during the year and no spring break
Seventh: The money is the most important thing . Residents productivity is measured by amount of money collected!!
I met three residents not recommending this program.

Thank You so much for the information, really appreciated. Does that means an IDP program at Umich is of same standards?

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry I don't have an idea.
