Hello

Has anyone had their computer crash while taking the DAT's? If so what happens?

This is my worst fear! 😱

I know someone who was taking a differnet test were I have to taken them and their computer crashed and everything was gone and they had to take it all over.

I dont think I could handle that :scared:
.

the guys at promettric told us if the electricity goes out, the computer won't....and if the computer crashes, we could jump to another computer and continue taking the test from there because everything is saved constantly on a seperate server. thats what i understood from them...and im from columbus; not sure all of them do that...i wouldn't worry about it tho; thats the last thing you should be thinking of at the moment.

good luck

it does happen but they let you continue the test... (odds of happening of happening are minimal)... there quite a few people having computer crashes on their on the boards what happens is they let you continue but it seems they forget to ttell ytou that your answers on the section you are on might be wipped out... so check for that i guess if it does happen but don't worry about it too much ... u have other things to worry about..

I thought my computer had crashed when it froze for around a minute and the hard drive wasnt making any noise. It unfroze eventually but I was a bit frazzled by the scare and took me a minute just to regain my focus. Not cool.

I had my computer crashed on me while taking DAT. When they backed it up, my answers were saved, but for some reason about 10 answers were missing in the biology section. I still had enough time to correct them, but didn't get enough time to go back and recheck every answer. The center offered me to retake DAT the following week for free. I refused since my stats were good enough... well, except for the Bio section (16). Currently, I got 6 out of 9 schools inviting me for interview.

YES, it can happen. Let me tell you, it's happened to me!! My computer crashed during the last section (Quantitative Reasoning). They had to restart my computer and I was able to continue with the question I left off from before it crashed. BUT, when I finished the section, I saw that it cleared my answers for the questions I answered before it crashed for the QR section. I of course didn't have time to redo those questions, although I tried to do redo as much as I can. And you know what sux the most? The fact that they do not compensate you at all for it at all, except offer you another chance to retake the exam free of charge. I personally think that's not compensation at all for a number of reasons, one of the main ones being that your first score stays permanently on your record. And you know how much you have to argue and push yourself in their face to do take the exam over? Geez... It really sux big time. I retook the exam and I went up from a 16 to 23 in QR but my 16 stays. Anywayz, yeah... the chances of it happening to you are rare so don't worry but yeah, it does happen to some of us and it's really not fair at all.

From what I have heard whats more likely than a crash is a momentary freeze. The best thing to do is remain calm and not let it get to you.
