I have some computer programming courses & a computer vision course, all fall under the engineering department because there was no computer department. I know engineering courses count as other-science, but these were true computer courses (not computer science). The AADSAS directions do not address computer courses in either the other-science or non-science examples. I'd rather not wait until Monday to get an answer from AADSAS. Any clue if these are other-science courses or if they are non-science?😕

How did you figure your engineering classes are "non-science" classes? If that is true then, last 3 years, all I took is science classes.

My engineering classes are other-science, as the AADSAS directons state. My question is about the computer classes that just happen to have a course number with an engineering prefix, like EE-440.

Definitely other-science. How do you figure that programming and computer vision are not computer science? What do you think computer science is? If you were learning about word and excel, then it would be what you call a "true computer course", and probably not science.

What do I think computer science is? I don't really know, that's why I asked the question. I'm not an IT or computer geek, so no need to get snotty. I guess I don't think of programming as science, I think of it as programming.

My school didn't have a computer science or computer department when I took the courses 20 years ago & none of them are titled computer science. They are titled:
Microcomputers EE321
Microcomputer language EE425
Computer Architecture & Organization, EE 422
& the computer vision one I mentioned.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be snotty. You didn't say that you didn't know what computer science is, only that those courses weren't computer science, so I assumed you had an idea in your head of what computer science is.

Another way to look at it is that programming is really closely related to math, which is other-science (and math is not generally thought of as science.)

I would put it in as other science. AADSAS can change it to whatever they want.

Would you please direct me to the statement where I can look at that? I don't want AADSAS application to be delayed by me putting wrong information.

Thanks.

Log in to AADSAS. Go to "coursework". Click on the "instructions for this section" in the upper left of the page. Scroll down and they list examples of classes for Bio, Chem, Physics, Other-sciences & Non-sciences. Under other-sciences you'll see engineering listed. Hope this helps.

AADSAS did not recognize my computer science courses as "other science"
I have filed an inquiry.

however, in my previous attempt in applying thru AADSAS(not last year), they were included in the science GPA

Im IT, and I say if you don't think programming (aka computer science) courses are science then....
Organic chemistry is French and
Biology is math
