Hello all! I've gotten interviews for two jobs! Assuming I get through interviews and get offered both jobs, can you help me decide between the two?
Background: I'm freshman interested in MD schools. Currently taking 12 hours this semester. Also in a research lab.

Concierge is at a heart hospital nearby. It's PRN which is great. Responsibilities include: greeting patients/families, works with cardiologists/surgeons in updating patients' progress to family, oversees visitor processing, helps with office duties, patient transport, etc.
Patient sitter is also PRN at a facility quite far away. Responsibilities include: remaining bedside of assigned patient at all times, calming/reorienting patient when agitated or confused, recording observations, performing "basic patient monitoring activities under RN". In the phone pre-screen interview, they did mention that esp as a freshman potentially starting out as a patient sitter I can eventually "move up" into positions like medical assistant. That's valuable because in Austin, all medical assistant positions require certification which I don't have.

I don't want to factor pay into this quite yet because I want experience that will be most valuable in exposing me to patient care and shaping me as a strong candidate for medical school. Since both jobs are PRN, should I just take on both jobs? Or is there a job that immediately stands out as more valuable in terms of gaining solid clinical experience? Let me know! I appreciate any and all insight you can give me. Thank you! 🙂

The concierge job will likely give you a better experience as long as it's predominantly face time with patients and their families rather than office busy work. I wouldnt use the term concierge on the application though. I almost mistook it for a concierge practice.

I did a similar concierge job all 4 years of undergrad. It was an amazing experience that solidified my interest in becoming a doctor, and every single interviewer has been interested in it so far! Definitely recommend.
